On 21st of October 2023, AKI's Poona College of Arts, Science & Commerce's Department of B. Voc Software Development successfully hosted the workshop "IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS." under the esteemed leadership of Principal Professor Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, the focus was on imparting valuable insights into IT infrastructure and operational management for the B. Voc. Software Development students. Notably, Mr. Zaheer Khan, the Operation Manager at Dinero Software Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, shared his extensive knowledge and experience as a distinguished guest, emphasizing the institution's commitment to providing top-quality education in the IT sector and fostering professional growth among the participants. 
The Department of B. Voc. Software Development anticipates organizing similar events in the future. Throughout the day, participants explored best practices and real-world case studies, gaining practical knowledge on various aspects including IT infrastructure management, DevOps, server management, network administration, storage handling, data center operations, and the utilization of the Linux operating system in Amazon Cloud.

Introduction:
Under the esteemed leadership of Principal Professor Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Iqbal N Shaikh, the Department of B.Voc. Software Development organized a seminar titled "IT Infrastructure and Operations" on October 14 and 21, 2023. The seminar aimed to provide second and third-year students enrolled in B.Voc. Software Development with valuable insights into IT infrastructure management and operations within the context of software development projects.


Event Highlights:

- Trainer: Mr. Zaheer Khan,  the Operation Manager at Dinero Software Pvt Ltd, Mumbai,, served as the esteemed trainer for the seminar. With his extensive industry experience and expertise, Mr. Khan brought valuable insights and practical knowledge to the program.
- Recitation: The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Abubakar, student of B. Voc. SY SD , setting a spiritual tone for the seminar and invoking blessings for its success.
 Prof. Nikhat Hurzuk, delivered an address emphasizing the importance of the seminar and its relevance to the academic and professional growth of the students.


- Day 1: October 14, 2023
  - Introduction to IT Infrastructure: Mr. Khan provided an overview of IT infrastructure components, emphasizing their significance in software development projects.
  - Networking Fundamentals: Students gained insights into network protocols, architectures, and network security measures.
  - Server Administration: Practical sessions on setting up and managing server environments were conducted, focusing on web servers, database servers, and application servers.


Day 2: October 21, 2023
  - Cloud Computing: The seminar delved into cloud computing concepts, with hands-on experience on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  - Security and Compliance: Discussions on IT security principles and compliance with industry standards were held, highlighting the importance of securing IT infrastructure.
  - IT Operations Management: Participants learned about incident management, problem resolution, and capacity planning in IT operations management.




Conclusion:
The seminar on "IT Infrastructure and Operations" provided students with valuable insights into managing IT infrastructure within the context of software development projects. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, students gained a deeper understanding of networking, server administration, cloud computing, security, and IT operations management.

We extend our gratitude to Mr. Zaheer Khan for his invaluable contribution as the trainer, and to all the faculty members, staff, and students for their active participation and support in making the seminar a resounding success.

Educational Trip to Imagica Theme Park

 The Department of B.Voc Software Development at AKI’s Poona College of Arts, Science, and Commerce organized an educational and recreational trip to Imagica Theme Park on 1st February 2025. The trip was conducted under the esteemed guidance and support of Dr. Iqbal N. Shaikh (Principal), Dr. Amjad Shaikh (Vice Principal), and Dr. Imran Baig Mirza (Coordinator, B.Voc Software Development). The trip was meticulously planned and coordinated by Ms. Nikhat Hurzuk (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Farooque Shaikh (Nodal Officer, B.Voc Department), who also accompanied the students along with *Dr. Imran Baig Mirza* to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.   A total of 34 students and 3 faculty members embarked on this much-awaited trip.
